Does your brand have a YouTube channel? If so, you’ve probably noticed that it is really hard to get your content seen. Especially when you are a brand. In this article we are going to show you, how to use trends to grow your business on YouTube.
Why do we love trends here at Trend Watchers? Simple, because if you can get into a trend early enough while there is little to no competition, it will allow your video to rank higher in YouTube search.
When the trend starts to take off, your video on the front page will start to get a lot of views & subscribers within a short period. Here go a graph down below that shows you what we aim to achieve here at Trend Watchers.
We are going to show you how to do exactly this in 3 steps.
- Focusing in on a sub-niche
- Creating systems with trends
- Getting your first viral video
Focusing In On A Sub-Niche
The world is moving extremely fast. If you try to keep track of everything, you will overwhelm yourself. This is why we highly recommend picking one sub-niche. This will make it easier for you to find trends & test them, to get your first viral video on YouTube.
There are many sub-niches you can focus on. Here go a list of good sub-niches businesses or brands can focus their efforts on.
- Before & Afters
- Product Testings
- Tricks / Experiments
These may seem foolish but here go a few business/brands that use a few of the things from this list.
As you can see, by them focusing on a sub-niche, it allows them to get more views on their videos.
Creating Systems With Trends
After you have chosen your sub-niche, it is now time to create a system. If you look at all major brands YouTubs channels, you will see that all of them have a system in place. Not only for video production, but also video ideas. Here go an example down below.
You need to do the same thing as well.
First, open up a google sheets or excel & pick 2-3 days your brand can upload videos to YouTube. Less than our recommended number is fine, it will just take longer to see results.
After you have 2-3 days picked out each week, plan your normal content for 50% of the days chosen. For the other 50%, we want you to focus on the sub-niche you have chosen. On these days, you will be focusing in on a trend within your industry using your sub-niche.
How Do I Find Trends Within My Industry?
First of all trends can be both big and small. In our books, we define trends as a topic or brand multiple people are talking about.
For your company’s benefit, you want to make a list of top competitors & industry innovations people are talking about & plan them around the sub-niche you have chosen. Type all of this into your Google sheet or excel. Keep doing this until you have 1 month worth of content planned.
After planning is completed, the only thing left to do is take action.
Getting Your First Viral Video
YouTube is not easy. It takes a lot of upfront work before you will start to see results. This is the reason why very few businesses & brands take advantage of it. Most prefer to see quick results and are not willing to put in the time to see the long term results.
When it comes to getting your brands first viral video, you need to maintain posting to your schedule for at least a month. This will allow you to get enough information into YouTubes system to where it will start recommending it to lots of people increasing the chances of going viral.
Using trends to grow your business on YouTube is not an easy task. It takes a lot of upfront planning, production, and uploading before you will start to see results.
